About Us

Dragonflies Community Nursery is a community run nursery in Bexhill on Sea. It provides Early Years education with focus on developing a love of learning, for life. The staff team are passionate and dedicated practitioners who provide a safe, nurturing, happy and stimulating environment where children can play, explore, and experiment to become confident, inquisitive, and capable learners.

We have an inclusive culture and we arouse the curiosity of the children to learn about and explore other languages and cultures. We support parents whose first language is not English to access resources to improve their use of the English language.

The nursery is located in the heart of Sidley in Bexhill on Sea, in a large purpose-built building which is shared with a Family Hub. The nursery is very spacious, with an ensuite baby room with its own play and sleeping area. There is a lot of natural light and with the support of the community the nursery enjoys the benefit of being equipped to a very high standard, which include a range of quality materials to bolster the children’s learning and development. There is also easy access for wheel chair users.

Dragonflies community nursery has a beautiful outdoor space with a large garden for children to enjoy. We encourage children to spend time in the garden everyday for some fun activities and to explore the natural environment. We operate a whatever the weather approach to outdoor play, which means that children can choose to play outside in all but the most severe weather conditions e.g. high winds/ thunderstorms.

We offer morning, afternoon, and full day sessions. The nursery can accommodate children from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm.

We provide good wholesome meals to our children including healthy snacks, water and milk. Fresh nutritiously tasty and well-balanced meals are served daily with produce sourced from local grocers. We accept children from one month until school age. We encourage families to visit us as early as possible to register for a place. Occasional places do come up, so please contact us for more information.
